Ideally applicants will have experience in

• establishing and fostering good relationships with parents/carers
• promoting the self-esteem of parents/carers
• working 1:1 with parents/carers, who may need intensive support
• working proactively with different stakeholders in and beyond schools to help parents/carers support their children to make the most of educational opportunities
• having a key role in promoting ‘at home’ parenting in a non-judgemental way
• promoting parental involvement in school and school-based activities such as parents’ evenings and family learning
• attending meetings to support parents/carers and the school
• liaising with other local Parent/Family Support Advisors to share best practice

• liaising with families, children, schools and other necessary agencies involved in Early Help Assessment (EHA) processes, CIN and core group meetings
• undertaking home visits as required

You will need very good people skills, be an excellent communicator and have good problem solving skills.
