Barnsley Council’s Core Business Improvement and Intelligence (BII) Team is changing! The new look BII team will include a new technical arm which will help power the ‘engine room’ for the corporate business intelligence team.

The lead role for this new part of the team will need to be technically skilled and adept and you will lead the corporate Data Management framework to improve data across the organisation. You will lead in the development of technically innovative solutions to present the data back as information and intelligence to a wide ranging audience.

Some of the skills you may well possess could include:

• Excellent leadership skills;
• Data management and visualisation experience;
• Integration and consolidation of data from various sources;
• And moving forward, leading on the council exploiting data mining, machine learning and predictive analytics.

You must be able to lead the team and work closely with your colleagues to ensure a consistent message is provided to customers. That message is: working with our customers alongside data, information, performance and intelligence, all of which are crucial in driving forward change and improvement.

You will need a relevant level 6 qualification.

This role will commence from the 1st April 2019.
