Starting salary: £26,000 gross per annum pro rata (actual of £22,334 gross per annum)

Contract: One-year fixed-term, full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 39 working weeks

Barnsley Academy is seeking to appoint a Support and Guidance Manager to join their established team of support staff. The academy is part of United Learning, a national group of schools and academies. Barnsley Academy is an 11-16 secondary. As part of United Learning our aim is to bring out ‘the Best in Everyone’ and we continuously strive to ensure that students and staff have every opportunity to succeed, with their potential developed to the utmost. This is an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues, students and parents/carers in partnership, sustaining and improving the quality of education provided at Barnsley Academy.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

·       To enable all students to develop the habits of self-discipline required to climb their personal mountain to university or a real alternative.

·       To fulfil our commitment to disruption free learning, every minute of every day.

·       To support with leading a year group in their pastoral development at Barnsley Academy.

 

Successful candidates will be:

 

·       Highly motivated and enthusiastic.

·       Dedicated to setting high standards and expectations in student behaviour, attendance and appearance and to celebrate success and achievements.

·       Act as a role model to students so professionalism and confidentiality will be key attributes.
