Teaching Assistant for September 2021 start

Salary: £14,395 actual

34.75 hours per week
Working Pattern: 08:15 to 15:30 & Wednesday 08:15 to 16:30 

Contract: Fixed term to July 2022 initially

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant with great energy, passion and a relentless focus on high standards.

 

As part of the United Learning Trust, Hunningley Primary School serves the Kendray and Stairfoot communities of Barnsley. We are school who welcome children from three to eleven years old.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Have a strong understanding of the core curriculum in the year group
  • Supporting children’s learning and developing their independence
  • Fostering interest and enthusiasm for learning amongst the pupils
  • Taking individuals or groups for curriculum support and in any sessions where extra help may be necessary
  • Deliver and evaluate interventions that meet teaching and learning objectives, with the support of the teacher
  • Being pro-active and seeking opportunities to support the team using your own initiative
  • Accompanying teachers and pupils on out of school activities and taking responsibility for a group under the direction of a teacher
  • Helping in classroom maintenance and lesson preparation, including sorting, filing, photocopying etc
  • Assisting class teachers with the preparation and carrying out of all classroom activities
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities
  • Assisting and supporting teachers in the setting up of lessons and the preparation and display of art and written work

 

Pastoral

  • Knowing the pupils throughout the School, but especially those in the class taught, for whom you are a point of contact on matters of the pupil’s wellbeing
  • Playing an important role in the safeguarding of the pupils
  • Participating in the School’s programme for the personal and social development of the pupils
  • Carrying out supervision duties,
  • Attending meetings, curriculum sessions, INSET sessions where applicable
  • Undertaking any other duties which the Principal may reasonably request

Hunningley Primary School became part of United Learning in 2017. Our children range from 3 years old in our Nursery up to 11 years old. We currently have 408 children on roll and are rated Good by Ofsted.
