Your role in our journey
As Senior Health Improvement Officer in the Sport & Active Recreation team, you will provide specialist public health support with a focus on physical activity and active travel across the council and with external stakeholders. You will work in close partnership with a range of public / private organisations community and voluntary groups and those who work, live and study in Barnsley. You will lend your expertise, knowledge and innovation to a range of physical activity projects to ensure delivery of our public health strategy to improve health and wellbeing. Crucially, you’ll also help us develop, deliver and evaluate strategies, projects and services to identify need and tackle health inequalities.
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need a relevant degree and be able to evidence your commitment to continuous professional development. You will need to evidence that you have a track record of effectively leading on planning and delivery of public health and physical activity programmes and the development of strategies and policies to drive successful change. With a flair for public engagement and partnership working, it is your talent for communication that really sets you apart.
