About the Post:

 

Bereavement Services are looking for a Cemetery Operatives to join our grave digging team.

This post requires applicants to work outside in all weathers and be flexible in their approach to work.

The excavation of graves is a sensitive job and applicants will need to demonstrate an awareness of their surroundings along with a compassionate and caring nature.  

Duties will involve the safe excavation of graves throughout the councils 22 cemeteries using a 3cx compact and mini digger. You will also be required to dig graves by hand.

Physical fitness is a key feature of this post as you will be expected to carry equipment to the grave side as well as excavate graves by hand if necessary.

An NVQ  level 2 qualification or equivalent along with a full driving license is required (including  being able to tow a trailer on the highway. B + E).

Applicants who do not have this level of qualification and a trailer license will not be considered for this post.

 

You will need to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy whilst working to tight deadlines.
