To ensure continued provision of Public Health Nursing services within Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council we are seeking to recruit Child Development Practitioners who are passionate about working collaboratively to support the provision of high-quality services.

Your role in our journey
As a Child Development Practitioner within the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service you will contribute to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme working in partnership with agencies to promote and improve health and address inequalities at individual, family and community level. You will contribute to the co-ordination, organisation and implementation of local, regional and national public health initiatives which will require you to have excellent communication and assessment skills and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of child safeguarding.
What you’ll need to join us,
We’re looking for caring committed individuals with a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education (formerly NNEB/Diploma in Nursery Nursing) or NVQ level 3 in Early Years Care & Education with experience of working in a caring profession. You will need to demonstrate that you have experience of working with children, young people and parents/carers with complex needs in a community setting. We are seeking to recruit individuals who have experience of multi-disciplinary team working and an understanding of the Healthy Child Programme. You need to be enthusiastic about working as part of a dedicated team and resilient and able to work under indirect supervision. Your ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and the ability to travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.
