We are seeking a dynamic individual with experience of developing policy and strategies relating to the use and management of land and assets, ideally working in partnership with a range of bodies.
This Senior Programme Manager post will lead on coordinating the Sheffield City Region (SCR) One Public Estate (OPE) Programme, working closely with Local Authorities and wider public sector partners including the NHS, Fire and Police Services, and Homes England. The post will report to the SCR Joint Assets Board, which oversees the SCR OPE Programme and comprises of senior representatives from all partner organisations.
An initial task will be to prepare the SCR Estates Management Strategy which will set out how surplus public land and assets across the SCR (including from Central Government) are best reused or disposed of to support economic and housing growth ambitions, as well contribute to effective public services. This will include developing integrated packages of investment to unlock local employment opportunities, and create attractive places to live, work and socialise; thereby, playing an important role in wider strategic regeneration and placemaking activity.
The post will also provide a leading role in preparing and coordinating the Combined Authority’s input to the SCR OPE Programme. This will involve developing a Strategic Asset Management Strategy and Delivery Plan for the Combined Authority Group’s land and assets portfolio, and include identifying opportunities for these assets to contribute to wider SCR economic and housing growth ambitions.
This post is externally funded and is initially offered on a two year Fixed Term basis, but with the potential for making the post permanent thereafter, subject to future budget confirmation.
