Salary: £28,672 - £31,346  pro rata Plus laptop & phone

Working Arrangements: 1 x 37 hours - Monday to Friday, 2 x 18.5 hours - Wednesday to Friday inc. Agile Working

Hours per week: 18.5 & 37

Contract type: 37 hours - Fixed term until 31/03/2023, 2 x 18.5 hours - Permanent

Prospective employees will be required to give a reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of time living abroad.

 

 

Pensions Regulations have provisions to reduce pension payments in certain circumstances of those who return to work within local government service.  If you are in receipt of a pension upon commencing employment with the authority, this may affect your pension entitlements and you should therefore seek advice from the relevant Pensions Authority.

 

 

About the Post:

 

 

The Communities Directorate of Barnsley Council are recruiting to three exciting posts.

 

  • One post is a part time, permanent role based in the South Area Team, The Hoyland Centre.
  • The second post is a full time, fixed term position until 31st March 2023 based with the Central Area Team, Worsbrough Common Community Centre, job share applicants welcome.
  • The third post is a part time, permanent position based in the Dearne Area working across the Dearne South ward. 

 

If successful you will lead a programme of social action and engagement linked to the delivery of locally agreed Ward Alliance and area priorities and reflecting the corporate priority of building stronger and resilient communities. You will work directly with elected members, volunteer groups and people who live and work in the area and have the ability to inspire, mobilise and empower people to play an active role in their community through a variety of mechanisms.
