The Governors of Kings Oak Primary Learning Centre are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic staff member to join our committed and hardworking team.
Teaching Assistant – Grade 3 (Permanent – to start in September)
30 hours, 38 weeks + 2 Inset days per year: £12,725 - 12,979 approx.

We are looking to appoint a candidate with relevant and proven experience of supporting children with social and emotional difficulties which create a barrier to their learning. It would be preferred that the successful applicant should have an understanding and some experience of working with a child on the Autistic spectrum.
The role will involve supporting pupils to engage in learning activities within the mainstream classroom and outside of the classroom where needed, often on a 1:1 basis. Applicants should be a positive role model for the pupils, supporting them to appropriately manage their behaviour and emotions. They will work with children to help them understand their barriers to learning and develop strategies to overcome them. The right person for this job will be calm, supportive and nurturing, but with the ability to be firm but fair where needed, ensuring that all children feel safe, secure and confident in channelling their emotions effectively.
The role will also involve supporting, planning and leading interventions to groups of children in literacy and numeracy and to provide learning support in classrooms in line with the Teaching Assistant job description. Experience of relevant programmes for example Catch Up and Read, Write, Inc would be an advantage.
We work hard at Kings Oak to develop our children’s self-confidence and social interaction skills, to help them to take pride in their achievements, be confident in group participation and in sharing ideas, as well as respecting those of others.
Evidence of relevant skills and experience should be presented at the application stage.
