Job Title: Associate Senior Leader – Behaviour and Pastoral Leadership
Location: Barnsley Academy, Barnsley
Start Date: September 2020
Salary: £40,000 (£43,234 FTE) (Salary band 5)
Contract: Full time, 42 weeks per annum, permanent.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong, experienced leader of behaviour to take up a non-teaching post at Barnsley Academy as part of the Associate Senior Leadership Team. We are looking for someone who will be a dynamic leader who is able to further develop our existing teams and work collaboratively whole school to enforce and evolve our current Disruption Free Learning (DFL) Systems. The role will also involve leading our Head of Year team, our Behaviour Team, and our new Internal Alternative Provision Centre.

The ideal candidate would either be from a teaching background as this will help understanding of the role, (although this is a non-teaching role to ensure you have the time to dedicate yourself to this key role) or significant experience working in an educational environment. We are looking for someone who would be able to demonstrate strong people-management skills and who has experience of leading a team. The expectations of this role are to be working at a leadership level, the successful applicant must have strong emotional intelligence and a sense of calm in all situations whilst also having the ability to work with harder to reach families. Knowledge of working with external services would be desirable.
