About the Post:

Family Centre’s in Barnsley are looking to recruit Early Years Practitioners to work across several of our sites.

Our current vacancies consist of the following term time only positions

·         1 x 37 hours permanent position – Thurnscoe Family Centre

·         1 x 18.5 hours (afternoon) permanent position – Thurnscoe Family Centre

·         1 x 37 hours temporary until the end of July 2023 – Kendray and Worsbrough Family Centre

·         2 x part time 18.5 hours (afternoon) temporary until 31st March 2022 (possibility of extension – awaiting confirmation) – Grimethorpe Family Centre

We are looking for highly committed and motivated level 3 qualified early years’ practitioners to work in our Family Centre nurseries which offer funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year old children on a term time only basis. Please note the posts will require you to work term time plus 5 additional INSET days during school holidays.

With increasing demand for nursery places, the posts require enthusiastic individuals who are able to contribute to the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage , as a key worker for individual children, you will be expected to assess and plan stimulating experiences which meet individual children’s needs.

Your role in our journey:

As an organised and enthusiastic individual you will assist with the care and education of children in our high quality sessional care setting adhering to all relevant policies and procedures and legislative requirements.  You will contribute to the planning, organisation and provision of appropriate play and educational activities following children’s interests, promoting individualised learning opportunities and observing and assessing children regularly.

You will be part of a wider Family Centre team, who together, are offering early help to some of our most vulnerable families in the Barnsley area.

You will be an excellent communicator who is able to develop relationships with parents, professionals and the wider team.

You will have an understanding of safeguarding and be able to adhere to safeguarding policy at all times.

A flexible approach is essential for this post.

What you’ll need:

Alongside an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification you will also need to evidence that you have relevant experience of working with children aged 0-5 years in an early years childcare setting.

Your communication skills, flexible approach and flair for building relationships will really set you apart.
