Oakwood High School is an over-subscribed 11-16 High School. The school is part of Inspire Trust, which also includes Sitwell Junior School and Thomas Rotherham College.

Head of School is a key leadership role; the main purpose of which is to provide strategic leadership for improving pupil outcomes, the development of teaching, learning and assessment strategies, ensuring that pupils are well managed, are safe and are well cared for and to ensure that the regulatory and statutory duties of the school are met. The candidate will have a clear focus on driving and embedding accountability measures.
Candidates will be truly committed to supporting pupils to achieve, have high aspirations for pupils’, staff and all others associated with the school, the Trust, our learning community and beyond. The candidate must be a proven senior leader, with a track record of success who can drive strategic thinking, develop and implement educationally sound, imaginative and dynamic ideas to improve outcomes for our pupils.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can represent the school and the Trust positively and professionally in a range of contexts, forging and establishing links with other practitioners in other institutions through a support and challenge network. This post will be attractive to teaching professionals who want to focus on improving pupil outcomes, teaching, learning and assessment and who can put pupils at the heart of everything they do.
The Head of School will be required to discharge the responsibility and accountabilities outlined in the Job Description; these reflect the Trust’s Scheme of Delegated Responsibilities. Leadership support will be provided by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
