The Sheffield City Region is a strong public-private partnership tasked with driving economic growth across the city region’s economy. With a programme totalling over £1bn to invest in our economy, a growing base of innovative and enterprising high value businesses and an ambitious forward strategy, there is no doubt that this is an exciting time to be part of the Sheffield City Region Executive Team.
The SCR Executive Team is now recruiting for a Senior Programme Manager – Infrastructure & Spatial Planning
We are seeking a dynamic individual with experience of developing policy and strategies relating to infrastructure development and spatial planning, ideally working in partnership with a range of bodies.
This Senior Programme Manager post will lead on coordinating the Sheffield City Region (SCR) spatial planning and infrastructure development activity, working closely with Local Authorities, wider public-sector partners and the private sector. This will be a varied role ranging from developing strategic spatial planning policy and approaches as part of the Duty to Cooperate obligations, through to strategy implementation and working with partners to develop capital projects to deliver the growth ambitions of the SCR Inclusive Industrial Strategy and district Local Plans.
The post will therefore play a central role in coordinating strategic regeneration and placemaking activity across the City Region, including leading on developing both the SCR Integrated Infrastructure Plan and future investable propositions to unlock new growth opportunities. Initial tasks will be to work with partners to develop shared evidence bases to support both City Region and local plans and strategies to inform strategic policy, as well as developing integrated packages of investment to unlock local employment opportunities, and create attractive places to live, work and socialise.
The post will lead on supporting partners and stakeholders in developing viable commercial projects to support economic growth and regeneration, particularly those projects that may require SCR Local Growth Funding support to accelerate their delivery. This will include supporting the delivery of the SCR Enterprise Zone sites.
The closing date for applications is Friday 26th January 2018.
