Your role in our journey
As a Road Safety Technician, you will be part of the Traffic Group that comprises of engineers, Active Travel Officer and the School Crossing Patrol service. You will work closely with the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership, South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, local authorities, public health bodies and others aimed at reducing the number of people killed and injured on all roads in the borough and helping to make our roads and communities safer. We aim to reduce those people injured in road traffic collisions through application of the 3 E’s – Education, Engineering and Enforcement.
The Road Safety Technician’s role will provide Education, Training and Publicity support, working closely with other agencies to deliver age relevant road safety activities and advice in schools, colleges, businesses and elsewhere in line with the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership’s Education, Training and Publicity (ETP) Action Plan.
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need a relevant Level 2 qualification, and experience dealing with the public at all ages.
