About the Post:

 

Safer Neighbourhood Services are seeking a highly motivated and experienced officer to work as part of our multi-disciplinary Community Safety team. You will be responsible for providing a reactive and proactive housing management service to tenants and landlords in the private rented sector. This will include dealing with housing disrepair, overcrowding, landlord malpractice, anti-social behaviour and environmental issues.

You will need to be an experienced investigator with substantial experience of problem solving to achieve best outcomes for tenants, landlords and communities. You will have a proven track record of dealing with victims and perpetrators and in assessing threat, risk and harm to inform appropriate responses to behaviour or situations that impact negatively on others.

You will be able to demonstrate an extensive working knowledge of relevant legislation, tools, powers and approaches in dealing with vulnerable people living in private sector accommodation. This will include a working knowledge of Housing, ASB and Environmental sanctions and legal processes available to secure the best outcomes.

You will be a strong team player who is able to respond creatively to new challenges and ways of working.

You must be able to work a varied 6 weekly shift pattern including 5 weekdays to 10 p.m. and 1 weekend to 6 p.m. You must also be willing to undertake and pass Level 2 enhanced police vetting processes in line with local and national requirements.
