The Sheffield City Region LEP working with the Combined Authority secured a £320 million Growth Deal for Sheffield City Region, the fifth most substantial Growth Deal that any City Region has made with Government. More latterly Sheffield City Region has agreed on a Devolution Deal with Government, which will give local authority and business leaders’ greater say over how they grow the local economy.

Part of the strength of our approach has been in ensuring a strong evidence base and business case approach to projects and programmes. In deploying programme and enabling the SCR CA and LEP Board to make robust investment decisions and choices, this post is critical in scrutinising the evidence submitted in business plans and testing this to determine value for money and benefit realisation. This post will lead this independent appraisal and assessment function, advising our key boards and is central to the shaping the forward investment programme of the SCR.
