LITTLEWORTH GRANGE PRIMARY ACADEMY
Director of Teaching and Learning (Assistant Headteacher)
L5-L9
(Plus access to an individually tailored CPD package)
Required for September 2014
Littleworth Grange Primary Academy is a popular and rapidly improving 2-form primary academy community set in the heart of the community of Lundwood in Barnsley. We work closely with The Hill Primary Academy and Gooseacre Primary Academy.
As an academy we have been on a journey of rapid improvement over the last 3 years as recognised by Ofsted (2011). As a result of this we were recognised as the third most improved primary school in England (2012) and 92% of our pupils achieved Level 4 (in English and Mathematics) at KS2 in 2012.
In September 2013 we joined the Navigate Academies Trust. Navigate Academies Trust is an inspirational academies network that aims to give children and young people from all backgrounds an education that will transform their lives. Becoming an academy has added significant capacity to our improvement journey and has provided staff with exciting opportunities to work trust wide.
Due to the external promotion of the current postholder to Deputy Headteacher we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and forward thinking colleague to join our Senior Leadership Team as we continue on our journey towards becoming outstanding.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented teacher with extensive knowledge and experience of Primary Education to play a key role in further developing teaching and learning across the academy. We actively welcome applications from individuals currently leading a key stage and looking for promotion to SLT, as well as those currently on SLT and looking to develop their career.
You will:
• Provide a role model of exemplary teaching practice
• Be inspirational to colleagues and pupils– sharing best practice
• Build strong relationships with parents and other providers
• Make a significant contribution to the leadership and management of the academy
We can offer:
• A dedicated, talented and caring staff who are committed to deliver the best possible education to our children
• Career defining CPD and the opportunity to develop your career path across the Navigate Academies Trust
• Well behaved children who are polite, respectful and open to learning
If you are an inspirational practitioner, with a commitment to excellence and want to join a creative and progressive learning community that will invest in your future, then please get in touch.
