Within Children's Services in Barnsley parents and carers are involved in planning, developing and evaluating of local services for disabled children and their families. The ultimate aim of involving parents is to improve outcomes for children and their families. Parents and carers in Barnsley are established advocates for their children and participate in the decision making processes for their children and others in the same situation. Peer support is strong and this role is key in co-ordinating the knowledge and skills that exist within the parent and carer community. We are looking for someone who can support the participation of parents’ agenda further by working alongside local parents and carers and children's services. Within this exciting role you will need to champion the needs of parents and carers.
