Your role in our journey

 Barnsley Council are seeking to recruit a Public Health Support Worker to play a key role in our award winning How’s Thi Ticker service. As a Public Health Support Worker, you will be providing vital support and community outreach to Barnsley residents, providing health checks and health and wellbeing advice in a range of settings. The service is crucial in preventing ill health, breaking down barriers to healthcare and reducing health inequalities.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a wider team who can really make a difference to the health and wellbeing of Barnsley residents. As part of this service, you will be out in the community supporting residents on a daily basis

 

What you’ll need

To join us, you will need to be passionate about improving health and wellbeing outcomes for people living and working in Barnsley. You will have an understanding of the wider factors that can impact on health and wellbeing, especially for those most at risk. You will be a great team worker with excellent customer engagement and communication skills.

 

A Level 3 qualification or substantial experience in health-related community work is required.

 

You must also be able to undertake any travel in connection with the post.
