About the Post:

An exciting new opportunity has become available to join our Business Intelligence team on a one-year Undergraduate Placement. At Barnsley, we’re on a journey to become data-led to shape a bright new future for our council and our communities. You’ll help us along this journey to make sure we have the right business intelligence and drive for improvement that we need to make a success of service’s that we support.

On the placement, you will play a critical role in discovering, preparing, and analysing data to support effective decision-making for across the council. You'll also gain hands-on experience working alongside our award-winning BI team on technologies such as Power BI, GIS, and data warehousing.

We’re looking for someone who can:

·       Help identify and prepare the necessary data for analysis.

·       Support the development and implementation of data quality checks and data validation processes.

·       Work closely with other members of the project team to ensure the delivery of high-quality work.

·       Have a keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high quality outputs.

·       Be willing to adapt and work independently but still be a critical part of the team and work closely with your colleagues to ensure our outputs support innovation and transformation.

You will need to be currently completing a relevant undergraduate degree, along with experience in accurately recording data, reconciliation, simple analysis, and presentation. Please apply by submitting a CV and cover letter outlining how you meet the criteria for this role.
