Salary: £47,420 plus a welcome payment  

Working Arrangements: Agile Working minimum 3 days in the office (Monday-Thursday 8:45am-5pm, and Friday 8:45am-4:30pm). There may be a requirement to work outside of normal hours to meet operational requirements. A flexi scheme is in place.  

Hours per week: 37

This is an exciting time to join Barnsley Children and Family Social Care. Working in partnership to achieve better outcomes for our most vulnerable children, we recognise the key position that Advanced Practitioners hold in our teams and are seeking to further develop this role by expanding the number of Advanced Practitioners across our Children and Young People’s Service.  

 

A key role within our teams, Advanced Practitioners have a varied balance of;  

 

 
  • Working alongside our Practice Development Hub to deliver our Social Work Academy offer, supporting and mentoring our cohort of Newly Qualified Social Workers through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment  

  • Working alongside the team manager to drive best practice, supporting learning and development within the team.  

  • A manageable reduced caseload

Who are we looking for?  

 
  • You will be a qualified social worker and registered with Social Work England  

  • You will be self motivated and innovative in your intervention with families  

  • You will have experience of working in statutory children’s social work, of driving plans for our most vulnerable children within the child protection and court arena  

  • You will be committed to supporting and developing teams and workers, with experience of mentoring students, NQSW’s or colleagues
