About the post
The Integrated Front Door in Barnsley consists of different agencies that come together and are co-located in the same office to work as the gateway into Children’s Social Care and Early Help services. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visitor/School Nurse to represent the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service within the Integrated Front Door. The postholder will practice autonomously and as part of a wider multi-agency team, demonstrating and providing SCPHN expertise and knowledge to support effective information sharing with multi-agency partners, which facilitates continuity of care for children, young people, and families. You will also support the interpretation and sharing of health information that is necessary to inform multi-agency decision making in relation to children and young people in need of safeguarding in the Borough. Due to the complexities around the post and that it is within a co-located team, much of the work will take place within the office base.
About You
We are looking for a SCPHN Health Visitor/School Nurse with extensive and recent experience of working with children and families where there are safeguarding children concerns and up to date knowledge, skills and competencies within the multi-agency safeguarding arena. You must have excellent communication skills and experience in effective multi-agency and partnership working, while having the ability to build relationships with a wide range of colleagues. It is important that you have the skills to support effective challenge when there are differing professional opinions on the management of cases.
