About the Post:

 

Are you looking to build a career in Business Administration specifically in Human Resources? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to combine working and learning in our busy Organisational Development team. 

 

As part of the role you will be working with colleagues to organise our corporate training offer and support our online learning platform.  At the council our greatest resource is our people, and you will provide support as we look at how we can develop our employees to ensure they have the skills to continue providing an excellent service to our customers and residents.  This will involve using Microsoft applications to develop resources, supporting with our apprenticeship programme and assisting with the planning of our corporate Organisation Development events.  As a core service, we're involved with work across the whole organisation and this role will give you a great insight into all the services the council has to offer. 

As part of this role you'll undertake a level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with Barnsley College.  The team will support you in completing your apprenticeship by providing you with the opportunities to put into practice what you learn. 

Our team is friendly, enthusiastic and passionate about organisational development.  We'll ensure that you are involved in a wide range of work to increase your skills and knowledge in the workplace. 

To be successful in this role you’ll need great digital skills.  You'll be working with colleagues across the council, and at all levels including management so you'll also need excellent communication skills.

This is fantastic 22 month opportunity to gain both experience and a level 3 qualification in a team that's passionate about developing our employees.

What you'll need to join us:

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must meet the following entry qualification criteria:

4 GCSEs at grades 4-9 (A-C or above) including Maths and English

Willingness to undertake a 22 month Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship

In return for your skills and quals, and as a thank you for contributing towards our vision and values, we can offer you a whole host of benefits that are outlined in our Just4You package.  We currently operate a hybrid working approach where you'll have access to Westgate (our main town centre office, various outreach buildings and the opportunity to work from home.  We operate a 37-hour working week on a flexi-time scheme (7am - 7pm) and coordinate with one another to maintain a level of service cover between the hours of 9am - 5pm Mon - Thurs and 9am - 4:30pm on Fridays.
