About the Post:
Be at the cutting edge of tech and digital ecosystem development and support! Join TECH SY as Projects and Contracts Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new team working at the forefront of innovative economic development and business support. TECH SY is a two year programme funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and led by Barnsley Council. It builds on work by the DMC, Barnsley’s hub for creative, digital and tech businesses to grow the local and regional ecosystem and provides a pathway to long term support for innovative start ups and scale ups in South Yorkshire.
TECH SY works across three main areas: strategy and engagement; positioning; product. Underpinning this will be communications and marketing activity to share progress and also promote South Yorkshire’s tech ecosystem. Already we have launched sy.dealroom.co a data platform that showcases the companies and investment deals currently here to help improve visibility of founders and businesses. We also took over 50 South Yorkshire tech ecosystem stakeholders to Climb 24 in Leeds, a major industry event and we are actively engaged in the South Yorkshire tech ecosystem via the TECH SY Project Director. More information is available at www.techsy.co.uk
The Project Director leads the programme team which comprises a Programme Development Manager, a Projects and Contracts Manager, a Marketing and Communications Officer and a Projects and Contracts Officer. This will be a fast moving, industry focused programme and needs an agile and adaptable team with ambition and passion.
We are now recruiting to Projects and Contracts Officer (fixed term 18 months – extension subject to funding)
The TECH SY Projects and Contracts Officer reports to the TECH SY Project and Contracts Manager and will work closely with them and the wider team to ensure the programme is a success and meets its objectives. They will deliver the programme’s reporting into our funder, SYMCA, as well as leading on day to day processes around budget and programme management, procurement and compliance. They will help set up the necessary programme management and delivery plans for activities in the ‘product’ area of TECH SY and work closely with the wider team and partners to embed data and intelligence into our work and manage the sy.dealroom.co platform content working closely with the Communications and Marketing Officer. They will work with the Projects and Contracts Manager to secure additional and future funding and partnership opportunities to support the long term delivery of the TECH SY programme and resulting action plan. The role is a critical part of the TECH SY programme and will be at the heart of this exciting new team, helping to keep it all running smoothly and effectively for the benefit of South Yorkshire’s economy.
If you have experience in project or programme delivery, a keen eye for detail and a love of process and organisation we’d love to hear from you!
