About the Post:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ambitious, innovative, energetic, friendly, and high achieving 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service (PHNS) to support the delivery of the Start for Life/Family Hubs programme of work. This is a fixed term post until March 2025 to develop and support the transformation and delivery of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health support services to families across Barnsley. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is keen to be involved in the transformation and delivery of perinatal and infant mental health support services across Barnsley. The post holder will work in collaboration with others to improve perinatal and infant mental health service provision for families. The emphasis will be on early intervention, prevention of mental health difficulties, and the promotion of positive relationships between parents and their infants.
In the role as Specialist Health Visitor -Perinatal and Infant Mental Health you will
· support the key strand of the Start for Life/Family Hub Programme to improve perinatal mental health and parent-infant relationships.
· lead on perinatal and infant mental health-based projects, provide clinical advice and supervision, and take on an education, training, and consultation role across multi-agency teams to improve emotional health and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and families.
This will be crucial in driving and supporting integrated approaches to ensure a continuum of service delivery between universal and more specialised services with a focus upon mental and emotional health improvement, prevention of mental health problems and early intervention when problems arise.
About You
To join us you need to hold a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) qualification and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and current up to date practice is essential. You will be able to take a key role in advocating for and developing family and relationship focussed care across the Borough. You will be able to develop strong links between Specialist Perinatal Services and other key universal and statutory health and social care service provision and provide a strategic lead role within the locally delivered health visiting teams. You need to be a highly motivated, proactive, innovative, resilient, and adaptable practitioner to be able to provide professional leadership, evidenced based consultation and clinical supervision to health and care staff. The ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.
